When you think about lawn care and landscaping you tend to think about the back garden. Here we think about the general layout of the garden and we think about tables and chairs and plants we are going to grow there, and all this helps to create somewhere for us to relax and spend leisure time.
However while it is very important to look at landscaping in the back garden, it is equally important that we focus on our front garden and that we think about what this will look like too. If you have a large front garden then this is particularly important, but even for a small garden it is a crucial consideration. It can be just as nice to sit in the front garden as it can be to sit in the back, and this allows you to watch as the world goes by. At the same time though however, it is also important to look after your front garden because of the impression it will make on people as they approach your property or walk past.
One reason for this is that your front garden is always going to be the first thing that people see when they approach your home. Most people know by now how important first impressions are, and this is just as important for your home as it is for you if you are attending an interview. It’s important to ensure that your garden makes the best impression on people so that they enter your home expecting a well looked after and attractive interior.
Your front garden is also something that people are going to see when they walk past your home as opposed to going into it necessarily. This way if someone walks past your house they will see a well presented front lawn that makes it look as though someone cares about the property. This is also something that is important for the sake of your neighbours – they will need to look at your garden when they look out the window for instance, and the look of the front of your home will also affect the way your neighbourhood looks – if your home is badly presented you can actually reduce the value of the area and so make it more difficult for others to sell their properties nearby.
For these reason then lawn care is one of the most important aspects of looking after your front garden. Make sure that you water regularly and that you look invest in a sprinkler system if possible. Remember too when you have your landscaping done that if you keep the grass relatively minimal (think a ‘small square’ of grass) then this will make it much easier to maintain and keep looking healthy.
Similarly to make sure that your front garden looks ‘tidy’ you should avoid having too many plants and flowers and trees in the area. This will also ensure you don’t obscure the front of your home or the view out (unless you want to).
You also need to provide a path up to the house of course, and this is another reason to keep the garden aspect relatively small.
